Our organic salves are made with love, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and a slow and low (heat) process from start to finish ~ to preserve the medicinal properties of each component to the maximum extent possible. The final result is a highly moisturizing natural salve, packed in a 2-ounce tin and ready to heal your skin.

Uses for Calendula Salve
Calendula salve works its magic by promoting cell repair and growth, coupled with its natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Apply calendula salve to irritated or dry skin, including on rashes, bites, wounds, stings, acne, scrapes, bruises or swelling, burns (including sunburn), cold sores, chapped lips, cracked cuticles, rough elbows and feet, or dry hands for general moisture. Calendula is known to help ease eczema and psoriasis, and also safely soothe cradle cap and diaper rash. I find it very soothing after shaving, to prevent or treat razor burn. Last but not least, calendula salve can also lessen the appearance of varicose veins and soften scars.

Our Calendula
The calendula used in this recipe is organically homegrown. We harvest whole flower heads daily at their peak freshness (and highest medicinal content) and dry them “low and slow” – on a living foods setting and never exceeding 105’F. Whole dry flower heads are then steeped in high-quality certified organic oils (described below) over several weeks using the solar infusion method. The highest concentration of medicinal resins are found in the green bud of the flower, not only the petals – whole flower is best!
Oils
This salve is created with calendula-infused organic sweet almond and organic sunflower oil. Sweet Almond Oil is a powerful moisturizer for dry and sensitive skin, including baby skin. It works to reduce excess sebum, inflammation, scars, dryness, eczema, and acne. Sweet almond oil can also lighten skin tone, dark circles, and support an even complexion. Sunflower oil is great for both dry, irritated skin or oily, acne-prone skin alike. It is gentle, lightweight, and will not clog pores. It is also highly moisturizing and healing, high in Vitamin E and oleic acid (omega 9 fatty acid) that provide natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It easily absorbs into the skin to lock in moisture, soothe and soften skin.

This salve is amazing. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and it helps with SO much. I’ve used it on itchy bug bites (somehow it takes the itch away?!), super dry cracked hands and feet, and even just as a regular moisturizer. I also suffer from really bad allergies and my nose becomes raw and cracked from wiping it with tissues, I put a little dab on my raw nose and I get instant relief. I never have had a product like this that you can use on most skin ailments. I love that it nicely soaks into the skin without feeling greasy or heavy. I for sure will be reordering once my current tin becomes empty as this has become a daily use item for us!

Last winter, after moving to the PNW from the East coast, I developed Chilblains on my toes, (they sound like an ailment from the Victorian era that shouldn’t exist anymore, like rickets.) 🙂
I started with a CBD cream which didn’t touch it (your toes and/or fingers get red, burn, and itch). The calendula salve gave me instant relief and made it disappear completely after just a few nights application!

So sad this is on back order hope it will be in soon & available!!!!! I bought my first products in July I have lichen sclerosis and been using steroids on some from my dermatologist. I was using a calendula ointment that was helping but was shopping on line and saw “Homestead & Chill and loved the fact that their product was organic so bought a couple of the products and my dermatologist couldn’t believe how good my spots are doing!
I had an extra one almost gone and ended up with Covid so didn’t reorder right away. And now so sad they are in back order I will never wait that long again!!

I am absolutely in love with this salve. I suffer from extreme cases of eczema and have literally tried everything from over the counter eczema creams, balms, lotions to prescriptions given by my dermatologist. The Calendula Salve was my first item purchased from Homestead and Chill and I was so amazed by the fact that something finally worked. I normally have to bare through burning like symptoms when I try something new and either it fades or I have to rush to wash it off my skin but this Calendula Salve was so calming on my eczema, no burning at all and was so calming on it and after applying it multiple times a day for several days my eczema was clearing up. It only takes a small amount and the jar lasts me awhile. I love that it didn’t leave a greasy residue on my skin or oily like stains on my clothes or socks. I now make sure I keep 1 jar in back-up stock so I never run out. If you suffer from eczema I highly recommend trying this. My dermatologist wasn’t a believer until I showed her the difference a couple weeks of using this did for my eczema. Thanks for the great product and for giving me back my life in the summer as I feel so much more confident wearing dresses and shorts without eczema patches everywhere.

Let me start out by saying my husband is almost a complete skeptic and often rolls his eyes at my more natural approach to some things but even he’s a fan of this salve! He’s an EMT and works long shifts in sweaty, gross boots. He gets sores on his ankles and the tops of his feet from rubbing/itching and the last time they were so uncomfortable he asked if I had anything I could put on them. A few applications later and he felt so much better! Personally, I love it for my cuticles. When I’m stressed or anxious I pick and bite at my cuticles. They get pretty sore and painful so this has been a huge relief.

Absolutely luv luv luv this product!! I call it the miracle salve. My daughter had gotten a really bad rash on her cheeks and she hates any creams or oil. She loved applying this herself, it’s not too oily it’s just right for her likings . She was healed up in a week. My husband used it around his eyes when pollen season was really bad made a huge difference in his wrinkles around his eyes aswell. He had me order the men’s balm. This salve is life changing! My sister bought this for me after hearing great things about it. I’ve had it for a month or so and love it on my lips and dry spots, but I just discovered it’s superpower… bug bites!! For 10 years I have been looking for something to help my son when he gets bit by mosquitoes, and nothing has helped! He gets so itchy and swollen and miserable! Tonight when he got bit on his arm and foot, I remembered that I had this salve and I thought- let me try this! After less than 10 minutes, the bites were not itchy and the swelling was going down!
