Bug Off Balm is a natural insect repellent that keeps away mosquitoes, flies, ticks, and other pesky bugs. It’s organic, nontoxic, and it works! The key ingredient (lemon eucalyptus oil) is the most effective plant-based mosquito repellent available. It’s known to yield similar protection as commercial bug sprays.**
Apply to neck, wrists, ankles, and other exposed skin. A little goes a long way! Re-apply every few hours as needed. The nourishing natural oils and shea butter moisturize and protect your skin. Bug Off Balm will soothe irritation from insect bites too!

Oils
This natural insect repellent is made with organic, virgin, and cold-pressed sweet almond and sunflower oil. Sweet Almond Oil is a powerful moisturizer for dry and sensitive skin, including baby skin. It works to reduce excess sebum, inflammation, scars, dryness, eczema, and acne. Sweet almond oil can also lighten skin tone, dark circles, and support an even complexion. Sunflower oil is great for both dry, irritated skin or oily, acne-prone skin alike. It is gentle, lightweight, and will not clog pores. Sunflower oil is also highly moisturizing and healing, high in Vitamin E and oleic acid (omega 9 fatty acid) that provide natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It easily absorbs into the skin to lock in moisture, soothe and soften skin.

Hi Karissa, that’s amazing to hear your Bug Off balm has worked so well for you in and out of the country! The aroma and effectiveness of the Bug Off balm can start to fade likely just over the year mark. Generally speaking, the shelf life on all of our salves is around 1 year due to the oils (sweet virgin almond and virgin sunflower) that make up the base of our salve recipes typically have a one year shelf life (yet we have used many of our salves well after a year as well). Normally I am the one in the group who gets eaten alive by the bugs/mosquitos more than anyone else. The other day I slathered this stuff all over myself and my husband who normally doesn’t get bitten was more bothered by the bugs than I was! He wasn’t wearing the bug repellent and the bugs could tell! I also love the smell of this, and that it is nontoxic. I also have no qualms about rubbing it on my face even with my sensitive skin that tends to break out since it has the same base as the calendula salve that I use for my daily face moisturizer!
