Description
Burning Tips
These candles perform best when burned 1 to 3 hours at a time, allowing the melted wax pool to reach the edges of the jar (or very close to it). Avoid lighting for short periods only, which can cause tunneling (a deep hole in the center, with tall walls of unmelted wax around the sides). Avoid excess burn times over 4 hours.
Wick Trimming
For wood wicks, shorter is better! Please trim the wick to ⅛ to ¼ inch between each burn. Use a wick trimmer, or gently pinch the crumbly charred tip between your fingers. Candle comes pre-trimmed for first time use.
Leaving a tall, charred wick can make the flame weak, uneven, or self-extinguish. Proper trimming creates a moderate stable flame, resulting in an even, cleaner burn. This reduces tunneling and sooting, leading to a longer-lasting candle.
Flame Height
Wood wicks can take longer to ignite than cotton wicks. So when you first light your candle, the flame may seem low or even appear to briefly self-extinguish… be patient! As long as it has embers or a small glow, it should grow to a nice medium-size flame within 15 to 30 minutes after lighting. The wax needs to melt some to help fuel the wick.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the flame seems high, low, or unstable initially after lighting, wait a few minutes for it to settle down. The flame height should not exceed 1.5 inches.
- If the flame stays too low, excess ash or burnt wood may be choking the flame. Extinguish, let cool, trim the wick to 1/8 – 1/4 inch and relight.
- Excessive dancing or consistent puffs of black smoke may indicate a draft. If not, extinguish, allow to cool, trim, and relight.
- In case of tunneling, allow the candle to burn until the melt pool reaches or is close to the edge or the jar.
- Soot on the inside of the vessel walls can be wiped off with a paper towel or soft cloth after extinguishing, while the jar is still warm but cool enough to safely handle.
Safety
Place on heat-safe surface. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Glass jar may become hot to the touch. Keep away from children and pets. Discontinue use once 1/2 inch of wax remains in the bottom of the jar.

I recently purchased 3 candles – 2 Cozy Spice, and 1 Warm Honey. I am very impressed with the quality, and both varieties smell fresh and fantastic! Even the Warm Honey (labeled as “unscented”) has a barely-there, sweet honeycomb scent to it, but not nearly fragrant enough to be overwhelming or bothersome. It does truly smell like real honey! As someone who is sensitive to fragrances, I really appreciate how both scents smell when burned – subtle, inviting, and authentic. The Cozy Spice candle truly reminds me of a pumpkin pie baking in the oven! The wooden wicks are some of the cleanest burning wicks I’ve seen, and they don’t crumble or leave a mess behind when trimmed down. They do crackle slightly, but not enough to be distracting. Overall, I’m really happy with these candles and plan to purchase more as gifts for the holidays!

I ordered the honey candle and it is so well made and burns very well! I LOVE wooden wicks. Very good instructions for candle use and I also can’t get over how well they are packaged and with all recyclable material. I will have to try to cozy spice next as I am sensitive to smells however based on the quality of this candle and the other reviews regarding the scent of cozy spice it definitely seems like it will work in our house well.
