Our organic salves are made with love, the highest quality ingredients possible, and a “low and slow” (heat) process from start to finish ~ to preserve the medicinal properties of each component to the maximum extent possible. The final result is a highly nourishing natural salve, packed in a 2-ounce tin and ready to soothe dryness and irritation.

Please note that oil-based balms can negatively interact with latex, comprising condom effectiveness. This balm is designed for gentle external moisture in the vulva area (like a lotion) but should not be used internally or as lube.

Excess application may cause pigment or oil transfer to clothing.

 

Ingredients and Benefits

Jojoba Oil (virgin, cold-pressed) is technically a liquid plant wax, not an oil. It’s molecular structure closely mimics our natural skin sebum (oil) which makes jojoba oil absorb incredibly well – providing deep moisture without feeling heavy or greasy. Hypoallergenic, gentle, full of antioxidants and vitamins, and jojoba oil is safe and soothing for the most sensitive skin.

Coconut Oil  (virgin, cold-pressed) has powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. Rich in fatty acids, lauric acid, antioxidants and vitamin E to soften, hydrate, and calm irritated skin.

Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil contains rare omega-7 fatty acids (palmitoleic acid) that deeply hydrate, nourish, and repair damaged skin. It’s also known to reduce redness, burning, itching, and other irritation – ideal for sensitive skin.

Calendula Flowers (calendula officinalis) are organically grown on our homestead, hand-harvested, slowly dried with low heat, and then infused in organic jojoba oil for over a month. Calendula is a highly medicinal herb that has been shown to heal or soothe a vast array of skin conditions including rashes, eczema, dermatitis, inflammation, redness, razor burn, hemorrhoids, boils and more.

Marshmallow Root contains high levels of mucilage, a natural gel-like plant starch that helps to coat and soothe irritated mucous membranes and skin tissues while locking in moisture. Commonly used to heal inflammation and dry, chapped skin.

Shea Butter (virgin, unrefined) deeply nourishes and hydrates the skin. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it supports skin’s natural barrier and elasticity while promoting soft and supple skin.

Unbleached Beeswax (USA) helps to form a breathable, protective layer to support the natural skin barrier and lock in moisture. Beeswax is also naturally antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants, and acts as a natural preservative.

Vitamin E Oil nourishes and protects the skin with powerful antioxidants, helping to maintain softness and while it combats inflammation, itching, dryness and irritation. We use an organic, pure vitamin E oil (D-alpha-tocopherol).
