Organic Hand and Body Lotion ~ Calendula & Aloe Vera

Description

Our organic body lotion is unscented (fragrance-free) but thanks to the high-quality cocoa butter, shea butter, and honey it has a very light and pleasant natural, nutty, cocoa aroma.

For the most hydrating results, use on damp skin (e.g. after a shower or washing hands) to lock in moisture.

Pump Tips: Turn the pump top to the left (“lefty loosey”) several times while gently pulling upwards to unlock it. If it seems the lotion doesn’t want to pump out, trim the pump tube by 1/4-inch, cut at an angle (as it may be pressing against the bottom of the bottle and blocking flow).

 

Key Ingredients and Benefits

Calendula Flowers (calendula officinalis) are organically grown on our homestead, hand-harvested, slowly dried with low heat, and then infuse in organic jojoba oil for over a month. Calendula is a highly medicinal herb that has been shown to heal or soothe a vast array of skin conditions including rashes, eczema, psoriasis, burns, scars, bites, scrapes, dermatitis, inflammation, redness, sunburn, razor burn and more.

Jojoba Oil is technically a liquid plant wax, not an oil. The molecular structure of jojoba oil closely mimics natural skin sebum (oil) which makes jojoba oil absorb incredibly well – providing deep moisture for all skin types without clogging pores. Rich in antioxidants, jojoba oil can also help minimize fine lines and wrinkles, fade scars, and soothe sunburns.

Aloe Vera Juice is renown in natural skincare for it’s ability to hydrate, smooth, soften, and soothe skin. Aloe vera can help increase collage production (anti-aging benefits), reduce inflammation, speed up wound healing, soothe burns, and generally calm irritated skin.

Shea Butter deeply nourishes and hydrates the skin, helping to restore softness and smoothness. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it supports skin’s natural barrier and elasticity while promoting a healthy, radiant glow.

Cocoa Butter creates a protective layer that locks in lasting moisture, leaving skin silky and supple. Its naturally soothing properties help reduce dryness and promote a youthful, even-toned appearance.

Coconut Glycerin is a natural humectant that draws and locks in moisture, keeping skin deeply hydrated and refreshed. It improves and softens skin texture, and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines for a healthier, more vibrant look. 

Stearic Acid is a plant-based fatty acid that helps strengthen the skin’s barrier by locking in moisture and protecting against dryness. It also supports a smooth, soft, and silky feel.

Vitamin E Oil nourishes and protects the skin with powerful antioxidants, helping to maintain softness and while it combats inflammation, eczema, sun damage, scars and wrinkles. We use an organic, pure vitamin E oil (D-alpha-tocopherol).

Natural Preservative: since lotions are made with a blend of water and oil, the use of a preservative is required to prevent spoilage (unlike our salves or face oil). We use a natural preservative called Geogard ECT (comprised of benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid, glycerin and sorbic acid) which meets the COSMOS and ECOCERT standards for use in certified organic products, and makes up less than 1% of the overall lotion. With this, the lotion should last for approximately 5 to 6 months after purchase, though refrigeration will extend the shelf life.

NO sulfates, parabens, phthalates, fragrance or essential oils.
